For bloggers?

The body of a blog collection should consist of articles that are located on the blog website. Titles are commonly added at the beginning of the article as a heading with author and date as a subheading located directly below the heading.

Creatively there is no right or wrong. As long as the writing is clean and the flow is concise your reader should be able to find what they are looking for on your page.

For essayists?

The body of an essay collection should follow formal formatting guidelines. Commonly the title and in some cases the date should be located at the top of the page, right-aligned.

For poets?

Poems take on a life of their own when on the page. Formatting the body, or meat, of a poem is completely up to the poet. Often times the format is part of the poem.

Titles may be located at the top, bottom or side of pages. They should be formatted as headlines or titles and should stand out to be differentiated from the body of the poem.

For short stories?

Short stories are simular to essay in how they should be formatted. They can be left aligned or justified. Titles should be centered on the first page of the short story.

The dedication is the section in your book that precedes any introductory sections (preface, intro, table of contents, etc) and is commonly no more than one or two lines in length.

Generally, the dedication section is specific to the author because it is a direct message to the person or persons the author deems significant in the journey towards completing the book.

A preface is an introductory section that commonly precedes the table of contents, the introduction, the first chapter or the beginning of the body of your book. Usually no more than one page in length, it tells the reader your train of thought or objective behind your collection.

Generally, you would have information in this section that is specific to the collection or the theme of the collection.

An Introduction serves several purposes in your collection. Introduction section can in some cases be as long as chapters themselves or as short as a paragraph. It will always directly precede your first chapter or the beginning of the body of your collection and come behind your dedication, preface or table of contents.

Generally, your introduction would include background information specific to yourself, the reason for your book, inspiration for writing the book or significant information or knowledge necessary to understand more about the collection itself.
